Chile, Puente alto
Without academic training but with a unique talent for balancing experimentation with warmth and strangeness with pop magnetism, Chilean electronic producer José Manuel Cerda operated from 2006 to 2016 under the name El Sueño de la Casa Propia (ESDLCP). An electronic project with which he released three albums and extensively performed in the local underground scene, spanning North and South America. It was a long journey that positioned ESDLCP as one of the most interesting projects in the Latin American indie scene; their album "Historial de caídas" was considered by local press as one of the most important albums of the 2010s. After that journey, between 2017 and 2023, Cerda went by the name Bruxista and distanced himself from the stereotypes of dance electronic music by experimenting with unusual dynamics, structures close to minimalism, and jazz, earning him a nomination for the PULSAR Awards for his work "Human Resources." Finally, in 2024, Cerda inaugurates a new sonic adventure called Dee Paper, an approach to the fractured rhythms of UK/Future Garage but from the original perspective of a Latin American producer. His first single is titled "Get it" and will be released soon by the French label Radio Chiguiro.
